Philadelphia was shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since February 2003 and the Flyers have not scored in 160:04 going back to Braydon Coburn 's goal late in the first period of a 4-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 27. Luongo made a nice save of Arron Asham 's tip-in attempt late in the second period and came up big on a power play early in the third period, stopping another chance by Asham and then a slap shot from Chris Pronger .

Vokoun was struck in the head by teammate Keith Ballad's stick on Monday and stitches were required to repair a gash in his left ear. Alexander Semin and Tomas Fleischmann scored midway through the first for a 2-0 lead, sending Clemmensen to the bench in favor of backup Alexander Salak . Salak then finished the game and made 29 saves on 33 shots.

Moulson, who has a team-leading 14 goals and is tied with rookie John Tavares with a club-best 22 points, finished his first NHL hat trick at 13:09 of the third period to give New York a 3-1 edge. His other two goals came in the second period. "I love scoring. I love winning. It's huge, especially against Atlanta, who is playing real well," said Moulson, in his third NHL season and first with the Islanders. "To hold them to one goal says a lot about our defense."
