Call for "Judge" Redmonds resignation.
on Saturday, December 16, 2006 - 05:33 AM EST :: Posted by : jay32 :: 820 Reads

While reading an article on Detnews.com about the recent case involving Carmen and the media blitz

resulting from it, I came across a VERY disturbing quote from Judge Redmond.

"Judges throughout this country have unfairly come under increased criticism in the media -- and among members of the public -- for their decisions and orders."

This is the most dangerous quote I think I've ever seen from a "judge". She show's a complete lack of respect for the very people who elected her. And anyone that feels their actions shouldn't be questioned have no business in a position of power.

Fact is, our jails are overcrowded enough without WASTING taxpayer money to lock people up for noise violations, jaywalking, and calling the "judge" a joke.

Please e-mail or send by regular mail your requests for Judge Redmonds resignation. mail@judgeredmond.com or I'm sure you can send letters to the 38th district court at

16101 Nine Mile Road
Eastpointe, MI 48021

Please join together to let this "judge" know that the PEOPLE have the power in this country. If she wants absolute power without question she needs to move to the UK.

I cannot believe the arrogance of this woman! Why does Judge Redmond feel like she is above the law? She makes me sick. I have never in my life heard of such an abuse of power and this just tops it!!! I've said it before and I will say it again...SHAME ON YOU JUDGE NORENE REDMOND!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be taken off the bench and put into an unemployment line!!!!!!!

FYI...other facts the public should know about Judge Norene Redmond. She is the highest paid person in the city...about $140,000 per year, some of which comes from the state. The people that work in her court are some of the highest paid salaries for court employees in the area, and most of them have never passed any basic employment tests and their positions are never posted (for the public to apply.)

Angels, just because you are happy being rank and file doesn't mean the rest of us need to put up with it.  That judge sent Carmen to jail over incidents that were COMPLETELY unrelated to what Carmen was in court over.  If there was a problem with Carmen THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!!  And i'm sorry to burst you bubble, but HAVE YOU LOOKED AT EASTPOINTE IN THE LAST 5 YEARS!?!?!  With the exception of a couple small neighborhoods, the city is going to hell in a handbasket. And it's stupid crap like this that are keeping decent people from ever wanting to move there.

You can just accept what your "judge" did, but anybody who believes in our judicial system shouldn't. Hell, Carmen wasn't even given the opportunity to defend the allegations, they were taken at face value as absolute FACT.

It's judges like Redmond that hurt our judicial system and make people disrespect it so.

Carmen went to jail so she could be taught a valuable lesson .When 14 people are complaining about you ,sign a petition, show up in court.Theres a problem here! Yeah you can keep saying it wasn't just carmen , she is the homeowner so she is held responsible for her actions plus her guest  actions .

I'm sure these people had enough of all the crap and they were giving the opportunity to handle it in the court room instead of causing a fight in the street. You know as well as I know if these neighbors went to them with these complaints there  would of  been  a fight not from the neighbors but from Carmen ,Scudd or his  friends. That is the way they are , I do know them!

Look one of the neighbors that called got retaliated on didnt they? Try to scare them so they wouldnt go to court! They still did though didnt they! I applaud them for trying to keep there community a nice one! Yeah you all might not have hope for this community but there is still alot of peole that do! The number 1 person is the honorable judge that took matters in her own hands to try to calm the storm before it got any worse. If you cant understand that then your realy need to read the laws and the way they work! If we didnt have laws then this place would realy be scary dont you think?

Also if the judge did sentence her unjustly then why hasn't it been over turned?

Its because it was not unjust ! It was all legaly justified!!

I read in other post about a certain person needs to get a life and so on look at you guys you all need to put this energy and do something good and noble with it.Like I read on one of the post: Mentor a child, work in  a food kitchen for the hungry and so on please quit with your whinning and move on so everybody else who is involved can!!

Thank you Carrie, you make sense.  Bunny, you really need to move on.  This is old news and the healing needs to take place.  Everyone needs to move on with their lives.  Hopefully, the neighborhood will heal and it will be a good place to live again.

As far as the facts.  I don't think you really understand what happened.  Yes, there were 14 people who signed a petition, (were they married couples, which would mean only 7 households?) but there were only three who showed up in court.  One of these people threw a bottle in front Carmen's house and resisted arrest and is waiting arraignment.  This incident happened the night Carmen's ticket was issued.

As far as your opinion of Carmen and her friends, who are you to judge them?   Like Scudder stated, she has been out of high school for a few years.  People change. Carmen has done quite a remarkable job of getting a good education, a great job and she is the homeowner.  There is a saying that you shouldn't judge someone until you walk in their shoes.  I certainly wouldn't want to spend all that time in jail.  Especially, around the holidays.  I believe she spent Thanksgiving in jail.  I can only wonder what kind of ramifications she will suffer as a result of jail time.

I think the amount of coverage this story recieved around the world shows this story is beyond Carmen and the 'incident'.  It is the way the whole thing unfolded.  The proof is in the amount of media coverage this story had.  And, Carmen had nothing to do with it, as she was locked up at the time the Media was on the Alert.  So, I don't think she can be blamed for any of that.

Why hasn't anything been overturned, you ask?  Anytime you are working with the court, it takes time.  This matter is being reviewed by several organizations.  Of course, the results will not be known for some time.  However, remember part of her sentence as well as the probation restrictions were reduced.

Carmen paid her dues, served her time and is moving on.  So, why don't you leave the people on Donald Street alone.

Bunny, YOU need to stop making this all about the Carmen incident. The only thing that Carmen's incident has to do with this post is that it reveiled how dangerous the judge really is.  And i'm sorry, spending MY tax dollars to send kids to jail for a month so they can learn a lesson PISSES ME OFF!  They aren't going to learn any more a lesson spending 30 days in jail from spending 1 night in jail.

Anyways, now you've gone and got me off track! The issue here is that "judge" redmond doesn't think anyone should question her actions!  You have to be nuts, a communist, a socialist, or a democrat to not see something wrong with that!!!!

We have laws for a reason! That is her job ! If you dont like it then fine ,but why try to have her lose her job because you dont agree with the laws and the way they work.

We pay her to do this and in my oppion she does a Great job holding people Responsible for there actions. She's fair and understanding to the ones who are honest and show some respect!Even to the ones who dont  I feel she is fair to them too! there just to blind to see that!

Another thing why I spoke about the carmen issue is this ,you do the crime you have to pay the fine in her case 30 days in jail and probation,Plus this Fair Judge granted her work release and let her out two days early. She could have had  90 days plus probation but the judge was fair and gave her a chance to prove to the community that this wont happen again!

Now people do you see my point!!!!

So you honestly don't believe we should EVER question someone in a position of authority? You're perfectly happy pissing your tax dollars away for petty bullsh*t?

You MUST be friends with judge redmond, because you have a SCARY attachment to her.  She IS dangerous and irresponsible. She's on a personal crusade to smite all who dare disrespect her or her friends in Eastpointe.

Yes the LAW does if her the authority to pass down such a sentence, and yes it COULD have been much worse. BUT!!!!!  It is her discrection as to how severe the punishment, and there are MANY who do not trust her judgement. Not just in this case but in MANY others! This case just thrust her into the spotlight and allowed everyone to see just how NUTS she really is.

And to make a point, the LAW says that a persons lifestyle may be used against them in cases such as this. But Carmen's lifestyle was never the one in question that was brought up in the petition or by neighbors.  It was the lifestyle of her friends used to send her to jail. It could be argued that she should choose her friends better, but thats not my call. She should have been given a fine and a warning, and if the behavior continued THEN sent to jail to learn a lesson. How do you punish for such behavior on the first warning? She wasn't even given the oppertunity to make things better, and by passing around that petition you only fueled the fire.

And stop with the BS that nobody wanted her to go to jail, we all know that was the angle when the petition was started.

No I'm not saying never Question authority but in this case I read all the court documents I've talked to alot of people I read the news papers and watched the news and I came to the conclusion and in my own oppion it was all legaly justified what the judge did.

I read that the petition was started because most of the neighbors could not be there in court that day to be heard so thats why it came about.

It was carmens lifestyle because it was her friends and also carmen who had numerous complaints from several differnt neighbors about what was going on before she ever was issued a ticket.I think she had plenty of warnings .Plus the numerous times the cops were at her house gave her plenty of warnings which maybe they shouldnt have and gave her many fines but that was there fault. The judge seen how many times and chances she could have changed this situation before it got to that point! That is nobodys fault but her own. She could have told her friends if they dont respect her house they would have to leave. Now did she do that? Anyways I hope this has been a valuable lesson for all thats been involved it is time for everybody to move on.The story has been dragged on long enough ,On a peaceful note Good luck to all the residents on Donald street and through out Eastpointe we need to bring this community back toghether and mend what has been broken before it is to late! You know what Bunny, there is obviously no getting a point across to you. I've read all the court documents as well. The police over the course of the year were called to her house TWICE. And one of the times was because people who were attending a retirement party for a co-worker were turning around in someone's driveway and they didn't like it. So stop trying to make it seem like the cops were there everyday.

Wow, now you're accusing me of being "God" and abusing women?  It's people like YOU who make Eastpointe dangerous. All of your arguements are emotionally charged and have no place in the realm of common sense.

Anyways, when I said the cops were only called to her house twice (and since you want to get technical) over the span of 9 months, I was referring to before that night. AND for YOUR information, they were only called ONCE that night and stalked the house till all hours of the morning waiting to catch anyone doing anything.  The fact is, they moved in on Carmen's house as soon as the girl walked outside. At 3 a.m. if nothing else is going on, of course you'll be able to hear someone outside talking.

So to move on, I respectfully ask that you stop accusing me of "picking on women" and playing "God", because neither are true.  If I really was all about picking on women wouldn't it make sense that i'd be all over Carmens case? Oh wait, that might be too logical for you. Oh wait, I can't say that otherwise i'm picking on women. Oh wait, this is AMERICA and i'm ENTITLED TO MY OPINION just like YOU ARE! I'm also entitled to disagree with a judge whom MANY feel is totally nuts! So how about you take all the extra time you invest on slandering peoples opinion and invest it in going back to school and learning how to spell?

Our honorable judge served this community for several years doing all kinds of things to keep this city nice and clean. We all appreciate her dedication to this community .It is level minded people here that have idiotic ways of thinking and who cant appreciate all that you do judge. They dont dare to even mention those things. There just all a sudden ticked off because a girl (one of there friends)went to jail for her actions. You (judge)didn't write the laws you just enforce them. The real problem here is the law not the judge. So untill you can give me One reason a Real reason then I will support the judge and the law because it seems to be working!!

Wow, way to hop the topic fence everytime you get caught. I gave my reasons as to why I feel she is dangerous. Maybe you should try reading the original post, or is that too complicated for you? Cause if you had actually read any of what i've ever posted you'd know that I never disputed what the law allows. I question the Judge's compotence in wasting tax dollars, then slapping the community in the face by saying people have no place to question her judgements!

Open a history book for time to time and MAYBE, doubtful but MAYBE you'll understand just how destructive people like that are. It's the building blocks for every freedom oppressed society that ever existed. I'm sorry, i'm sure you have no clue what i'm talking about so i'll stop before you think too hard about it.

I guess what really confuses me is how in the world you feel she's keeping Eastpointe clean and/or nice?!?! Have you looked around Eastpointe in the last 5 years? It's on an increasingly dangerous decline. Maybe becuase it's so small and the judicial system is easily swayed by personal vendettas?

As an ending note, it costs about $40 million dollars a year to run the Macomb county jail. Think about that next time your tax bill comes in. If we continue to allows judges like ms. redmond to waste our tax dollars on petty bullshit that tax bill is going to drastically increase year by year.

So next time you want to accuse me of just sticking up for a friend (which isn't the case) try actually reading the agruement. Because you make it seem like you have some sort of personal relationship with the judge.
